Perseid Party at Miller Woods

You are invited to a rare after-dark event at Miller Woods! Normally, Miller Woods is closed after sunset... But this is a special opportunity to see Miller Woods at night, and hopefully see some meteors as well!

The Perseid Meteor Shower is an annual meteor shower that comes around each August. The year, the peak night is August 12th. We will still have a 3/4 moon, but hopefully we will be able to spot a few meteors before the moonrise!

There is no cost for this event, but we do appreciate donations to Miller Woods to keep the space up and running. The suggested donation "entry fee" is $5. It's thanks to contributions from park visitors that we're able to maintain Miller Woods as a public space!

This event will also include brief educational presentations by volunteers from Oregon Dark Sky and the Carlton Observatory.
