About this Event

PERPETUAL CHANGE is a 5 piece tribute band based in Eastern PA with 4 generations of talent coming together out of love to reproduce the beautiful, powerful sounds of a very special band, Yes.

Mike Humbert - drums, keys

Mike was born into a musical family in Reading PA. By the time he was 7 he was already accompanying his mother to gigs to perform on percussion instruments. After getting his first drumset at age 10 he was off and running, learning many different styles of music but always having a personal affection for rock music. He discovered Yes in his mid-teens and has now finally achieved his long-time goal of wanting to put together a group of musicians to perform an evening of Yes music.

Mike has performed with many bands over the years of various styles and genres but is best known locally for being the main drummer with Erich Cawalla’s Uptown Band since 2010 and internationally with the touring rock band Steelheart since 2005. He has performed countless shows in 12 different countries to many thousands of people over the last 21 years. One of those shows was at the Sweden Rock Festival in 2018, where, incredibly, Steelheart had the good fortune to open for both Yes and Judas Priest.

Katrina Ambron - lead vocals, harmonica, percussion

Our beloved Katrina is a versatile vocalist and performer best known as the lead singer of The Uptown Band and half of the acoustic duo Mockingbird. A local ELCO graduate with a BFA in Musical Theater, she has built a reputation for her powerful voice that seems to have no bounds, her engaging stage presence, and ability to connect with audiences across a wide range of musical styles. She is not only a wonderfully gifted singer and performer, but Katrina also possesses an incredible instinct for rhythm. She was our first and only choice to deliver Jon Anderson’s beautiful, soaring vocals which she does spectacularly (she even learned how to play harmonica for this project), and we are so happy she said….”Yes”!

Mike Miller - bass, guitar, vocals

Mike was also raised in a musical family. He began taking guitar lessons when he was 6, including classical guitar. At age 13 he picked up the bass, where his musical influences include Chris Squire, Stanley Clarke, Mike Rutherford, Dave Hope, Jon Camp. Jazz was his main influence in the early years, then funk and progressive rock in his teens – particularly, Yes, Return To Forever, Genesis, Kansas, Renaissance, Starcastle, and others.

He has always been fascinated with the tone that Chris Squire achieved with his Rickenbacker bass and special amplification, and with the innovative, unorthodox bass lines that Squire used on Yes songs. He has spent many hours learning and practicing those lines and seeking to know the chord theory behind the music, considering it a personal challenge to faithfully play the material. Additionally, he has a fantastic ear and strong vocal ability to cover Squire’s impossible harmonies while simultaneously playing his impossible bass parts. Mike performs regularly with Central City Orchestra but you can also catch him filling in with other bands around the area both on bass and guitar, and sometimes even drums. We are lucky to have him.

Nate Petley – keys, vocals, trombone

Nate is a full-time musician specializing in piano and keyboards. He currently performs with The Uptown Band, Blitz Dynette, and a variety of his own musical projects. In addition to live performance, Nate is active in musical theater, provides coaching for college age musicians, and has built a thriving YouTube community. He also maintains a successful private piano studio, teaching students of all ages and skill levels. His incredible talent lends itself handily to cover the difficult piano and synth parts in Yes’ music, which he somehow makes looks easy. Nate also has a strong voice and an ear for harmonies and chord changes that has helped unlock some of the mysteries encountered while working thru this music. We have also found cause to utilize his ability to play trombone in this band. A wonderfully talented young man.

Max Bolton – guitars, vocals

Max V Bolton is a 26 year old guitarist/vocalist originally from PA and now based in NJ. He has performed up and down the east coast with NJ’s top 80’s tribute show “80’s Revolution” and has toured around the country and internationally with Nashville-recording artist “Jenny Grace”. Apart from being an original recording artist himself, Max holds several certifications from the Berklee College of Music and teaches music lessons in-home and virtually on a variety of instruments. He is, unfortunately, not related to Michael Bolton. But no matter…his ability to jump from acoustic guitar, to electric guitar, to lap steel and back again, all while making sure his sounds are being reproduced faithfully AND singing back up harmonies, sometimes all in the same song, is truly something to behold. A true Yes fan, Max is the backbone of this band and we are so fortunate to have discovered him.
