Join us for an intensive Weekend Acting Masterclass exploring two of Shakespeare's greatest tragedies: Macbeth & Hamlet.
About this Event

Shakespeare is at the core of actor training, performance and development. This Masterclass explores two of Shakespeare's greatest tragedies, Macbeth & Hamlet.

This is a RARE opportunity for Perth Actors to once again get this level of teaching from fully qualified actor trainers: ex-WAAPA Head of Acting & Director, Chris Edmund & ex-WAAPA Program Director & Actor Dalip Sondhi - for 8 hours per day for 2 days. That's 16 hours of solid work on the floor!

" Five stars out of five!! It's really interesting. It's fascinating. What really amazes me - and I've done another workshop with Chris and Dalip - you learn just as much watching other people learn as you do when you're doing it yourself. There's no wasted time. You learn so much. And the way they challenge you without it being terrifying. And they give you more courage. And I wish it was on every weekend. "

-- Nina Young (Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (2001), Tomorrow Never Dies (1997), Clash of the Titans (2010)).

A highly immersive experience into the processes of psychologically and physically exploring character, theme, and ensemble work utilising these great plays.

As actors engage with some of the greatest characters to come out of the Shakespearean repetiore, this intensive is designed to seriously up-skill their understanding and methods of core acting processes.

The Intensive

Shakespeare is the next in our season of these much sought after events.

The program focuses on physically & psychologically (psycho-physically) understanding these exceptional characters and contexts, engaging a heightened intensity this work demands. Actors will explore the use of blank verse and pentameter as well as building key ensemble skills. You will be have highly focussed direction from the workshop leaders through detailed scene work working in pairs.

Suitable for actors of all levels, the workshop provides an atmosphere of non judgement and openess enabling actors to take much needed risks.
