Whether you provide treatment through direct access or referral-based care, this course will equip you with practical, evidence-based techniques and protocols that you can immediately implement in clinical practice. With small-group teaching, you'll benefit from personalised support, guidance, and plenty of opportunities to refine your skills in a supportive learning environment.
This course covers core restorative procedures that are used in day to day general practice.
Day 1:
- The use of fluorides in paediatric dentistry, including Silver Diamine Fluoride (SDF)
- Learn my 5-Step Pit and Fissure Sealant Protocol to maximise retention and longevity, with dedicated hands-on practice
- Isolation techniques for restorative procedures, including an introduction to rubber dam and practical alternatives
- Class I caries management and restoration of young permanent molars:
- Caries removal principles and techniques
- Cavity design
- `CI Composite placement - Stamp technique.
Aims and Objectives:
Understand the role of dental therapists in the provision of paediatric dental therapy.
Select appropriate treatments for the prevention and treatment of caries in paediatric patients
Understand the use of fluorides for both prevention and treatment of caries, including silver diamine fluoride.
Recall effective protocols for fissure sealant longevity and success.
Understand the benefits of powder therapies for biofilm management.
Demonstrate and select appropriate isolation techniques for a variety of treatments including the use of rubber dam.
Demonstrate operative caries management techniques and select appropriate restorative materials.
Learning Outcomes
Be confident in the role of dental therapists in paediatric dentistry.
Gain understanding of the benefits and indications of fluorides, including silver diamine fluoride.
Gain skills in rubber dam placement and alternative isolation techniques for a variety of dental procedures.
Be confident in caries removal techniques.
Be able to select restorative materials confidently, for a variety of operative procedures.

- Between two and four weeks before the course date: 50% refund.
- Less than two weeks before the course date: No refund will be issued.
