Perelaz is a family fundraising event held every June at the Ukrainian Catholic University in Lviv.Since its inception in 2008, Perelaz has become a highly anticipated annual gathering for people of all ages. Guests come dressed in their best vyshyvanka to celebrate Ukrainian folk culture and community, and to support students and higher education at the Ukrainian Catholic University. The event now welcomes more than 100 families and is a well-established fixture for UCU’s friends and donors.
In 2021 Perelaz was initiated as a fundraiser in the United States, and this spring Perelaz comes to London! On 2 May 2026, guests will enjoy Ukrainian food, drinks and musical entertainment by the one and only Taras Chubay. The keynote speaker will be the inspirational public intellectual Dr Yaroslav Hrytsak, Professor of Historical Sciences at UCU. An auction will be held of Ukrainian art, along with a raffle of Ukrainian crafts and other items. A programme for children will also be available.
