The Avant bard Rhys Trimble joins Somerset sound sorcerers Swine along with Glastonbury’s own sonic pioneers Queen Space Baroque in a delirium of words, soundscapes and improvisation.Rhys Trimble weaves Welsh and English into a feral hoard of words. Swine conjure elemental sound worlds, sculpted by Michael Fairfax’s instruments hewn from the trees around his home and Tim Hills layers of saxophones and effects. Together they create wild, evocative performances. Queen Space Baroque blend ancient and modern, combining voice, strings, electric guitar and synthesers, led by virtuoso Jenny Bliss with guitar wizard William Kraemer and their own guest Maku Onion (Perpetual Flux) on electronics and twang boxes.
Rhys Trimble is bilingual poet, writer, sound maker, visual artists and performer. His books include Drone and The Red Book of Hergest Ward. He was nominated for the TS Eliot prize in 2016. He is the vocalist with the Punk/Improv/Noise group Lolfa Binc.
Michael Fairfax is a sculptor and sound maker based in the Brendon Hills in Somerset. Tim Hill a saxophonist and performer often working outdoors on theatre shows and celebrations, who combines free improvisation with folk and electronics.
