People's Emergency Briefing + Discussion (Event 2)
About this Event
The UK faces a growing climate and nature emergency, yet most people have never been fully briefed on what it means for our lives, our economy and our future.
On 21st October, the University of Hertfordshire will be hosting two free screenings of the People's Emergency Briefing. All members of the public, students and staff are invited to join a screening, and take part in group discussions, including learning about local action and next steps.
Local environmental groups will also be in attendance, holding stalls between 15:30 - 20:30.

What is the People's Emergency Briefing?:
In November 2025, ten of the UK’s leading experts briefed an audience of national decision-makers in Westminster, including more than 1,200 politicians and leaders from business, culture, faith, sport and the media.
The briefing set out the implications of climate and nature breakdown for health, food systems, national security and the economy.
This briefing has been summarised into a 50-minute film, outlining the risks facing the nation and the credible, positive responses available.
To date, over 2,000 film screenings have been hosted by community groups and workplaces across the UK, coupled with group discussions around next steps and local action.
Please note: The recommended minimum age for this film is 16.

Travel information for visiting the university. Please aim to travel to the event sustainably, using active or public transport, or car-sharing where feasible.
Parking
Visitors can park in University car parks and pay using Hozah. The first two hours are free. For longer stays, register your vehicle before or during your visit and payment will be taken automatically. Charges apply Monday to Friday, 07.00–19.00. Blue Badge holders can register online for a reduced rate. If you’re visiting a member of staff, they may be able to help arrange parking in advance.
