People Are Arseholes Live: A Public Discussion
About this Event
People Are Arseholes Live: A Public Discussion
Glasgow. We need to talk.
We all know an arsehole. We’ve worked with them, worked for them, lived with them, encountered them in the street and occasionally caught a glimpse of one in the mirror.
But why do people behave the way they do? Why do we tolerate behaviour we know isn’t acceptable? And what would happen if we started calling it out? And even more importantly, we taking responsibility for our own behaviours?
In June 2024, Anne Hughes published People Are Arseholes, a book exploring the behaviours that make life harder than it needs to be. Hundreds of people bought it, and now Anne believes its message is needed more than ever.
So she's bringing the conversation home to Glasgow.
Join Anne at the Pearce Institute in her hometown of Govan for an honest, funny and thought-provoking public discussion about human behaviour, workplace culture, everyday awful behaviour and the things we've somehow come to accept as normal.
This isn't just about pointing fingers at everyone else. It's about recognising the behaviours that damage relationships, workplaces and communities, and asking what we can do to change them.
Expect laughs, uncomfortable truths, lively conversation and the opportunity to share your own experiences.
Be part of the conversation
This event will be recorded, with the intention of turning the discussion into a podcast episode and creating promotional clips to help spread the message of People Are Arseholes beyond the room.
By attending, you'll be joining a conversation that we hope will continue long after the event itself.
Please note: Audio from the event may be used in a podcast and promotional content. We'll provide information about the recording arrangements at the venue. If you have concerns about being recorded, please speak to the organiser before the event.
