For 2026 The Prog Before Xmas once again brings you the very best in current UK Progressive Rock. The event will take place on Saturday 21st November 2026 at our usual venue: The Drygate Brewery in Glasgow. The Line up for this year’s event includes:
𝐖𝐡𝐢𝐦𝐬𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞: Whimsical Creature is an acoustic progressive folk/rock duo from Reading, UK formed in 2025. The duo has gone for a full folky approach. You won’t hear any Hammond organs, synths or electric guitars but what you will hear is lashings of jangly 12-string acoustic guitar, rhythmic piano, soaring flute melodies, shimmering autoharp and rich vocal harmonies. Debut album Wistful Thinking is out now. “𝘙𝘢𝘳𝘦𝘭𝘺 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘳 𝘢 𝘨𝘭𝘰𝘤𝘬𝘦𝘯𝘴𝘱𝘪𝘦𝘭 𝘳𝘰𝘤𝘬 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴.” (Progwereld)

𝐎𝐬𝐜𝐚𝐫 𝐂𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐨𝐛𝐚 𝐁𝐚𝐧𝐝: Oscar Cordoba Band is Glasgow-based 'fusion-prog' band comprising high quality musicians combining original material with versions of material from bands like Colosseum II. This project is a labour of love as the musicians involved have listened to and played this type of music for many years. There are a range of influences, but jazz-fusion is the common thread - veering towards the heavier end of the spectrum. The band consists of musicians who also play (or have played) in diverse projects such as prog-rock (Comedy of Errors / MacFloyd) or Rock/metal outfits (SAHB Experience / Zal Cleminson’s Sin Dogs). Expect high octane performances which include memorable melodies, expressive soloing and a band enjoying the type of music they all love!

𝐀𝐛𝐞𝐥 𝐆𝐚𝐧𝐳: The hosts and organizers of PB4X Abel Ganz have been taking some time off from live performance to work on new material. For this year's event [their only live performance in 2026] they will play some brand new unreleased tracks from forthcoming album plus some rarely played cuts from back catalogue to honour passing of much loved and missed ex-bandmate Hugh Carter.
𝐄𝐁𝐁: EBB were a band, the Erin Bennett Band, who played pop-rock but they kept straying off into Prog Rock and ruining it! So they finally listened to their own voices and went full Prog. You couldn't get a happier bunch of puppies. The resulting music performance and, these days, video and live actors, is best described as bespoke, rather than pleasingly generic. In other words, one likes it or one doesn't. Living in Scotland but hailing from all around the world, the band get on with each other irritatingly well. Also, they can't wait to meet you!

𝐒𝐨𝐥𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞: Solstice will make an unprecedented second consecutive headliner spot at this year's PB4X. Such was the reaction and feedback to their performance at PB4X.25 [they blew the roof off the Drygate!] that we have been inundated with requests to have them back! Mission accomplished! Winner of Prog magazine's Best UK Prog band award in 2024 Solstice is a band whose stock continues to rise. Their thrilling, joyful live performances are not to be missed!!
