"Definition of pensive (Entry 1 of 2): musingly or dreamingly thoughtful." Join Monroe County's inaugural poet laureate to write out the storm of life together at Pocono Cinema and Cultural Center, learning new ways to convey emotion and identity in contemporary creative writing and the ability to ask for concrete feedback to improve your weaknesses and strengthen your positives across fiction, non-fiction, and poetry. Attendees are encouraged to submit completed works to Nobody Thoughts: A Literary Magazine for publication and read/perform at Popcorn Poetry. This event is NOT an open mic or reading; you are not required or pressured to share if you do not want to, but hopefully you will create something dreamingly thoughtful.
July 7th is a prose poem workshop, designed by Monroe County poet laureate Brianna Booker. Please bring paper and a writing utensil in a color other than red to allow for feedback if you request it. Happy writing!
