Please join Strive Pensacola at Open Books on April 8 to discuss “American Teenager,” an award-winning book uplifting the voices of transgender young people across the country. The book follows seven families of trans youth in seven states as they try to navigate a hostile political climate determined to eradicate their joy, and author Nico Lang, a longtime LGBTQ+ journalist, will discuss how this groundbreaking project came to be. Reviews have lauded "American Teenager" as an “incredibly important, humane account of the joys and struggles so many youth currently under attack in our country” (Garrard Conley, author of “Boy Erased”) and “deep, silly, introspective, sweet, and smart, just like teens themselves” (Maia Kokabe, author of “Gender Queer”).
