Pelvic Floor Health Workshop- The Ins and Out of Your Pelvic Floor and Your Inner CorePresented by Lisa Loveless, OTR/L, Pelvic Health Therapist, Owner Next Level Therapy
Do you pee a little (or a lot) when you laugh, jump, cough or sneeze? Do you have concerns, fears
or questions about prolapse? Are you experiencing pain with intercourse? Are you concerned about
Diastasis Recti (separation of the tummy muscles)? Maybe you have fears about tearing during
childbirth? Do you feel you need to reconnect to your inner core and pelvic floor? Or simply are unclear
what we mean when we talk about the pelvic floor and want to learn more?
All great reasons to attend
this workshop. This workshop is geared to those prenatal and postpartum moms who want to learn
more. But to be honest, if you don't fall into those categories, and want to learn more, feel free to join
us. This workshop will provide a foundation for learning about your inner core and pelvic floor muscles
and provide you with some movements to improve your pelvic floor health immediately.
Prenatal Participants:
Learn techniques to access your pelvic floor and inner core to support your changing body.
Learn how to identify if your pelvic floor muscles are overactive or underactive and what that
means for preparing for pregnancy and childbirth.
Identify when it is necessary or recommended to see a pelvic floor therapist.
Learn how positioning in pregnancy and labor can help improve labor and delivery.
Learn movements to begin immediately postpartum.
Postpartum:
Learn what is normal and not normal for the postpartum pelvic floor. (Or for anyone of any
stage in life.)
Learn techniques to help reconnect to your pelvic floor and inner core.
Learn how to identify if you have overactive or underactive pelvic floor muscles and what this
means for healing the postpartum body.
Learn ways to improve your abdominal muscles if you have or think you have Diastasis Recti.
Learn techniques for scar healing.
All Participants:
Learn techniques to properly engage or relax your pelvic floor and how to apply these to your
daily activities.
Learn pelvic floor friendly movement strategies to apply to your everyday fitness.
Identify when it is necessary or recommended to see a pelvic floor therapist.
Things to know before you come:
Dress comfortably and be prepared to practice movements.
This is a safe space to ask questions. No question is TMI in the pelvic floor world. No question is silly. Lisa will use clear, open, direct language about body parts and experiences that relate to the pelvic floor.
