PEDRI Forum 2026

Join the Public Engagement in Data Research Initiative (PEDRI) for a one-day event focused on building a culture of meaningful public involvement and engagement (PIE) in data research and statistics. The PEDRI Forum 2026 will bring together researchers, analysts, engagement practitioners, policymakers and public contributors.

This event will spotlight inclusive and impactful approaches to engaging the public with data research, aligned with our Good Practice Standards. Through talks, workshops and interactive sessions, we’ll explore what good PIE practice looks like and create space for sharing experiences across the sector.

The PEDRI Forum 2026 is designed with connection, collaboration and inspiration in mind. You can expect:

• Thought-provoking sessions with a range of speakers tackling some of the big questions in PIE

• Opportunities to showcase your work in dedicated spaces

• A chance to connect with others in the data research and statistics community, including researchers, charities, research organisations, data owners and members of the public.

This event is open to those interested in shaping better, more inclusive approaches to engaging the public in data research and statistics. This includes:

• Data scientists, analysts and statisticians

• Data engineers and Trusted Research Environment specialist

• Public involvement and engagement professionals

• Information governance, ethics and privacy specialists

• Researchers using data and statistics

• Funders, policymakers and infrastructure organisations

• Public contributors with experience being involved in data and statistics projects

• Opportunities to network and connect with peers

PEDRI is hosted by Health Data Research UK (HDR UK) which is a registered charity, and we will not make a profit on this event. Registration fees help us to cover costs associated with the event.

We are offering a limited number of bursaries to support attendance at the PEDRI Forum 2026. These are intended to help cover the ticket fees, travel and/or accommodation costs for public contributors, students and early career researchers (ECRs) who may not otherwise be able to attend.
