Cook Off Rules

This event will be limited to the first 41 teams due to space limitations. More teams may be added starting May 18th if weather allows use of additional space.

All Teams must be set up by 7pm on Friday May 22, 2026

Spaces are 30x30 and you must be able to park your pit and all vehicles in that space. Extra vehicles may be parked in the parking lot behind the VFW or the Fire Department parking lot.

Move in will start on Thursday at 6pm.

Styrofoam containers will be provided at the cook’s meeting Friday May 22nd, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. for judging entries with numbered tickets attached.

No power will be supplied. No exceptions.

Fires are not permitted outside of the BBQ pit. (No fire pits allowed)

Each cooking team must use its own BBQ pit. Identical entries WILL NOT be accepted from the same BBQ pit.

Operable Fire Extinguishers are required at each BBQ pit.

The Chief cook will be responsible for the conduct of all team members and guests of the team. Teams will be required to provide one judge for at least one of the judging events.

Each team must have its own team captain and head cook.

Award for Best Patriotic set-up Judging –determined by Post 7109 BBQ committee.

Entry fee of $200 includes entry for 1(one) Chicken Half, Pork Spare Ribs, Brisket

$20 for Beans Entry ,$20 for Margarita entry

Turn in times:

10:00 am Margarita

11:00 am Beans

12:00 pm Chicken

1:30 pm Pork Spare Ribs

3:00 pm Brisket

Beans must be pinto beans and cooked on site

The VFW Canteen will sell beer inside of which may be brought outside. Beer not purchased in the VFW Canteen cannot be brought into the VFW Post.

Teams competing for Beer Trophy last call at 4pm Saturday.
