Just a Few Spots Remain for Peace Camp 2026 !
The Camp Theme this year is:
Remembering is an Act of Peace
Preserve the Past, Protect the Future;
Every Story Matters
From Monday June 22 thru Friday June 26, 2026 the Peace and Justice Center will hold our annual summer Peace Camp in the Gather Community Space in Wilkes-Barre. 9 am - 3 pm daily.
In recognition of the 250th Anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, campers will consider what it means to say "Remembering is an Act of Peace." Through stories and presentations, they'll think about preserving treasured ideals--like having the freedom to express their beliefs, vote for their leaders, and create the kinds of communities they want to live in--and protecting the future, in which they and their families are safe and happy, and living in a natural environment that keeps them healthy.
Moreover, Peace Campers will be reminded that each of them matters and that their stories are worth telling.
As in the past, Peace Camp 2026 will be a great way for children to make new friends, connect with old ones, and develop skills in getting along with others, no matter their differences. New and returning campers and volunteers are welcome to this week of fun, friendship, and finding out how to bring peace to the world.
REGISTRATION: The registration fee is $125 per child, with scholarships available for those in need. Those seeking a scholarship--even if you've asked in past years--should email [email protected] to make the request.
The camper registration form is available on the Peace Camp webpage. We encourage families to register their children before June 15, so that appropriate planning can take place.
VOLUNTEERS: The success of Peace Camp depends on the contributions of time and the talent of our teen and adult volunteers. We encourage new and returning volunteers to register at this link, where you'll find additional information and a registration form. Email [email protected] with any questions.
