Description:
Please Don’t Die Black Men (PDDBM) will have a vendor booth at the Juneteenth Freedom Celebration, an important community event honoring Black liberation, culture, and excellence. This is an opportunity to connect with the public, uplift our mission, and raise vital support for PDDBM's programs.
Booth Responsibilities:
-Arrive by 9:00 AM for booth setup. Takedown begins promptly at 3:00 PM.
-Greet attendees, explain PDDBM’s mission, and encourage engagement with our work.
-Sell the following PDDBM merchandise and resources:
---Apparel: T-shirts, hoodies, and accessories featuring empowering slogans and awareness-focused designs.
---Microaggression Board Game: A powerful tool to educate about implicit bias and systemic racism.
---Event Tickets: For the 2025 Kwanzaa Celebration and the 2026 Black History Month Fashion Show.
---Educational Materials: Workbooks, digital/printed guides, and resources for equity and education.
---Program Subscriptions & Sponsorships: Opportunities to support our afterschool programs in filmmaking, journalism, and fashion design.
---Custom Merchandise: Limited-edition or themed items tied to our events and initiatives.
---Afterschool Program Magazines: Student-created journalism pieces in print.
---Donation Opportunities with Incentives: Visitors can contribute directly and receive branded gifts or recognition.
Special Feature:
Lewa Ubunifu will be at the booth selling and autographing her powerful books: Caged and Locked, Surviving White People, and Enye Thamani.
Additional Volunteer Duties:
---Help relieve staff during breaks and lunch.
---Support setup and takedown.
---Assist with sales and crowd engagement.
---Help manage book signings and program inquiries.
Important for the Board of Directors, Volunteers, Supporters, etc:
This is the time to recruit and confirm volunteers. We need all hands on deck to make this day successful.
