PDC Student Day
About this Event
PDC Student Day invites the next generation of interior designers and architects to spend a day inside the Pacific Design Center learning directly from some of the industry’s leading showrooms and design professionals.
Designed to be both educational and inspiring, the day offers students an inside look at how the design industry works, from showroom operations and sample pulling to textiles, wallcoverings, new collections, product presentations, portfolio development, and professional networking.
The day begins with breakfast and a tour at ROMO, followed by a visit to Fabricut for an introduction to showroom operations and sample pulling. At Scalamandré, students will explore textile and wallpaper fundamentals before gathering for lunch at PALECEK.
The afternoon continues with a new collection tour at Phillip Jeffries, followed by a mood board competition and prizes at Quadrille. Students can then stop by Kravet for an open house and goodie bags, followed by a guided tour with bites and beverages at Arte.
At Thomas Lavin, students will have the opportunity to participate in portfolio reviews in partnership with AAPIDA, offering valuable feedback and insight as they prepare for careers in the design industry. The program continues with a fixtures presentation at Hagan Flynn, followed by professional headshot sessions at Kneedler Fauchère, also in partnership with AAPIDA.
The day concludes with an ASID Happy Hour in partnership with Brooklinen, featuring bites and bubbles. Brooklinen will also welcome students for a showroom tour and swag bags, creating another opportunity to discover the brand, connect with industry professionals, and end the day on a fun and social note.
Come ready to learn, explore, connect, and create while gaining real-world insight, discovering new resources, and building relationships that can help shape your future in design.
