Inspired by Patti Waterfield’s Peace Bird series, this free PD Day art activity invites community members of all ages (3+) to create a Peace Bird as an intention for peace and well-being in the world. Drop in anytime between 10:00 am and 4:00 pm on Friday, January 30 to make your own bird using our provided materials: pre-cut bird shapes (or paper to cut your own), beads and bling, string and yarn, felt pens, paint markers, and collage papers.Every Peace Bird will become part of a special community exhibition at Upwards Gallery from February 4 to 25, where all the birds will “fly” together in a colourful, hope-filled display. Creators may pick up their birds on Friday, February 27.
This event is free and open to everyone ages 3 and up.
Donations in support of the Gichi-Name Wiikwedong Reconciliation Garden at Nawash Park are warmly welcomed.
