About this Event

PBS North Carolina and the Durham County Library proudly present an Indie Lens Pop-Up Screening of THE INQUISITOR

Join us for a special screening and discussion featuring THE INQUISITOR, a new documentary from Independent Lens.

THE INQUISITOR chronicles the remarkable journey of Barbara Jordan, the groundbreaking Texas congresswoman whose sharp intellect and moral clarity transformed U.S. politics. From Nixon’s impeachment to civil rights battles, her voice demanded accountability, while she privately faced challenges few ever saw.

Event Details:

Date: Tuesday, March 10 at 6 PM

Time: 6-8 PM

Location: Durham County Main Library located at 300 N. Roxboro Street, Durham

Post-Screening Discussion & Q&A

Following the screening, stay for a community conversation and Q&A featuring community leaders and subject-matter experts. Together, we’ll :

  • Explore leadership, representation, and public service through the life and legacy of Barbara Jordan
  • Examine how race, gender, and lived experience shaped public leadership in 20th-century America
  • Encourage shared reflection about access, participation, and barriers to engagement in civic and public life

This discussion is designed to be inclusive, thoughtful, and engaging and welcoming a wide range of perspectives and experiences.

Whether you come to learn, listen, or connect, this event offers a safe and welcoming space to engage with one of today’s most urgent cultural and civic conversations.

This is a FREE event, but registration is required via Eventbrite. Please reserve your seat(s) today! Questions abourt the event or how to register? Email Karen Nowak at [email protected].
