About this Event
The Embodied Self: Self Portrait Collage and Creative Movement
An activity that combines collage and creative movement (accessible dance-making).
We will begin with guided exercises to connect with ourselves, our bodies, and each other. This can include breathing, gentle stretching, and community-building activities. Next, we will create self-portraits through guided collage-making using magazines, paint, coloring supplies, etc. Finally, we will embody our self-portraits with a simple choreographic activity where we create gestures to represent what we see within our collage. No movement experience is necessary and the workshop can be done seated or standing.
Locust Street Art Winter Weekends are led by LSA students and friends; donations go towards class supplies and then to our Free Community Art Class Fund.
