Pay It Forward - Sit & Sew Sunday

Are you a sewist who's in between projects but itching to still be sewing something......or you're keen to donate some time to a great cause.....
WELL....... do we have the opportunity for you......
We at Patchwork on Pallas have started a Pay it Forward project with the end goal of donating as many lap quilts to residents within one of the local nursing homes this Christmas.
Our Club Members have been busy creating blocks towards these quilts - we're at 135 blocks so far (currently that will make 15x9 block quilt tops) and counting.
Next step is to start sewing these quilt tops together so we can get them on the long-arm, quilted with binding on in time for Christmas . . . . . in the meantime the stack of blocks continues to grow towards our goal of at least 30 quilts.
We're hosting a Sit & Sew day and would welcome anyone looking to donate some of their time to literally sit and sew whilst enjoying a laugh, a cuppa, a chat and the opportunity to be part of our Pay it Forward initiative for Christmas 2026.
Details of our first Pay it Forward Sit & Sew day are:
DATE: SUNDAY 5 JULY 2026
TIME: Doors will be open between 10am - 3pm any amount of
sewing time you can give us will be greatly appreciated
PLACE: We are working closely with a local venue so out of
respect for them we will share the location with you in
person when you RSVP.
RSVP: Friday 3 July 2026
BYO: Your sewing machine, basic sewing kit, lunch
Sewing supplies, cutting boards etc will be available on the day for sewists. There is also a kitchen on-site with fridge & microwave facilities available.
We'd love you to join us, it will be a fun day - any questions give us a call at Patchwork on Pallas 07 4121 2480.
