Join the City of Washougal for a free, family-friendly Earth Day event on Saturday, April 25, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Reflection Plaza.This year’s theme, “Paws for the Planet,” brings together environmental education, community connection, and pet-friendly fun—focused on simple, everyday actions that help keep Washougal clean and enjoyable for all.

*The pet parade and costume contest are limited to licensed, vaccinated dogs.

Seedling Giveaway
As part of the City’s Earth Day efforts, 240 free Western White Pine seedlings will be distributed to residents to plant at home. These plantings will help increase tree canopy across Washougal, provide shade, reduce heat, and mitigate the urban heat island effect—especially in areas where canopy coverage is currently lower than surrounding communities. Over time, this effort is expected to contribute to measurable improvements in the City’s urban heat map.
This event is part of Washougal’s broader commitment to environmental stewardship, community pride, and creating a healthier, more resilient city.
