IMPORTANT Q&A ABOUT THIS EVENT.

🐾Service/Therapy Dog-Friendly Sound Bath FAQ

For everyone’s comfort and safety, we kindly ask that only approved service and therapy dogs attend with their handlers. All dogs must remain leashed and well-mannered during the event.

🐶 Will the sound be too loud for the dogs?

Not at all. The instruments used—such as gongs, flutes, gentle drums, singing bowls, and chimes—are played at therapeutic, soothing volumes. In fact, at past sound baths, service and therapy dogs often relax so deeply that they fall asleep! We also ensure a calm, safe space with room for dogs to lie comfortably. If your dog ever needs a break, you’re welcome to step outside for fresh air.

🧘‍♀️ Can I come without a dog?

Absolutely! This is a community sound bath for everyone. Whether you are a service-dog handler, a therapy-dog volunteer/owner, or simply someone seeking rest and renewal, you are warmly welcomed. Dogs have wonderful healing energy!

🥤 What should I bring for my dog?
  • A blanket, towel, or yoga mat for your dog to rest on
  • Fresh water and a travel bowl
  • A favorite toy or comfort item -(no squeaky toys please)
  • Leash/harness (all dogs must remain leashed with their handler at all times)

🌙 What if my dog gets restless or needs a break?

That’s completely okay. Dogs have their own rhythms and ways of processing sound. If your companion needs space, you’re welcome to step outside for a walk or a quiet reset and re-enter when ready.

💜 How does this event support Paws for the Powerless?

A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Paws for the Powerless, a 501(c)3 nonprofit dedicated to raising awareness about mental health and suicide prevention by providing trained therapy dogs to those in need. By joining us, you’re helping bring comfort and healing to both people and pups.

✨ Together, we honor the profound bond between humans and their service and therapy dogs—finding peace, presence, and renewal side by side.

We do expect this event will sell out due to limited space.

To ensure a calm and supportive space for all, we kindly ask that only approved service and therapy dogs attend.

Please contact [email protected] if you have questions about this event or the venue.

We look forward to seeing you and the service/therapy dogs that we hold close!

What is a sound bath?

A sound bath is a deeply relaxing experience where participants are "bathed" in sound waves produced by various healing instruments. These instruments often include singing bowls (Tibetan &/or crystal), gongs, tuning forks, chimes, drums, flutes, and other sonic tools that produce calming sounds. The goal of a sound bath is to promote deep relaxation, reduce stress, and restore balance to the mind and body through the power of sound.

During a sound bath, participants usually lie down comfortably or in a seated position, often with their eyes closed, while the practitioner plays the instruments in a specific sequence. The sounds and vibrations help guide the listener into a deep meditative state, where they can experience reduced mental chatter, emotional release, and physical relaxation. A sound bath can also align and balance the energy centers in the body (also called chakras).

Some key benefits of sound baths include:

  • Stress relief: The calming sounds help to slow the heart rate and reduce blood pressure, easing tension.
  • Deep relaxation: The vibrations help quiet the mind, promoting a state of deep relaxation, similar to meditation.
  • Balance and healing: Sound frequencies are thought to work on the body's energy field, aligning the chakras and promoting healing.
  • Improved sleep: Many participants find that sound baths help improve the quality of their sleep by calming the nervous system.

It’s a very gentle and non-invasive form of therapy, making it accessible to people of all ages and health conditions. A sound bath can be a wonderful tool for anyone looking to unwind, meditate, or enhance their well-being through sound. It's also a great way to elevate your consciousness!

What should I bring to a Sound Bath?

It's recommended to bring a few essentials to ensure you're comfortable and fully immersed in the experience. Here are some ideas: a yoga mat, cushion, or blanket to lie on comfortably, a zero gravity folding chair, a pillow or cushion for your head and neck support, an eye mask, water bottle, personal items like crystals, and an open heart and mind.
