Silverhurst Trail Overview
Location: Constantia, Cape Town (runs through the Silverhurst Greenbelt, near Brommersvlei Road).
Distance: ± 2–3 km (loop options available).
Duration: 30–60 minutes (easy pace, depending on the route you choose).
Difficulty: Easy, flat – beginner-friendly and suitable for all fitness levels.
Terrain: Wide, grassy and gravel paths with shaded stretches under old oak and pine trees.
🐕 Dog-Friendly Notes
Very popular with dog walkers — dogs are welcome on-leash.
Many locals do let their dogs off-leash in the open grassy areas (but officially, leashes are recommended).
Plenty of open space for dogs to play and socialise.
Natural streams and shady patches make it comfortable for pets, especially in summer.

Other access: Links into the larger Constantia Greenbelt network, so you can extend your walk towards Alphen Trail or Diep River Trail.
Parking: Street parking available along Brommersvlei Road (generally safe, but avoid valuables in the car).

Best enjoyed early morning or late afternoon to avoid the heat.
Can get muddy after heavy rains.
If your pup is social, this is a great trail to meet other dogs.
Carry water, although there are natural streams.
