About this Event

Join Village Books and North Cascades Institute in welcoming acclaimed journalist Paul Koberstein to the Readings Gallery for an in-depth discussion on his book, Canopy of Titans: The Life and Times of the Great North American Temperate Rainforest!

Join us for an exploration of one of the world's great forests—the Pacific Coast Temperate Rainforest—a natural powerhouse in the fight against climate change. Acclaimed journalist Paul Koberstein will take us on a journey through its breathtaking beauty, intricate ecosystems, and the urgent threats it faces today.

Paul Koberstein is co-author of Canopy of Titans along with Jessica Applegate. Paul is the editor of Cascadia Times, which he co-founded in 1995. He was previously a staff writer for The Oregonian and Willamette Week. In 2004, he won the John B. Oakes Award for the most distinguished environmental journalism in the United States. He lives in Portland, Oregon.

North Cascades Institute envisions healthy Northwest ecosystems where all communities and species thrive. Our mission is to inspire environmental stewardship through transformative learning experiences in nature. Since 1986, we have helped connect people, nature and community through the hands-on study of the natural and cultural history of the Pacific Northwest.
