February 20-22, 2026 workshop hosted by Mt. Carmel Veterans Service Center and UCCS.
June 12-14, 2026 workshop at Pikes Peak State College (PPSC).
At these workshops, service members work together to make short films about meaningful service experiences. This free screening, open to all, will be followed by a meet and greet reception for the filmmakers and guests.

Led by Benjamin Patton (grandson of WWII's General George S. Patton, Jr.) and a team of professional film instructors, PVP's free 3-day I Was There Film Workshops help veterans learn the art of filmmaking while working alongside fellow vets. These screenings help veterans, military families, and community members connect and better understand each other.
PVP hosts collaborative film workshops at veteran-friendly facilities and colleges across Colorado, Wyoming, Montana and Oregon throughout the year. Interested vets may register at pattonveteransproject.org, call (970) 657-5500, or email [email protected].
