PATTI ZLAKET and The New Band - Vintage Pop
About this Event
Raised in Tucson, Arizona, the talented singer-songwriter Patti Zlaket began playing the piano at age seven and writing songs as a teenager. After graduating from Salpointe Catholic High School in 1987, she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre from the University of Southern California (USC). She began her music career recording in Los Angeles, briefly residing in Nashville, and eventually touring across the United States and the United Kingdom. She also built a reputation as a commercial jingle singer.
Zlaket experienced a major creative revival inspired by watching the music documentary Immediate Family. She reached out to legendary bassist Leland Sklar, which led to a collaboration on new material.
In 2025, she signed with Meridian (an imprint of ECR Music Group), which reissued her remastered back catalog. She subsequently recorded her studio album, Dance Again, featuring prominent session musicians including Sklar, Herman Matthews, and producer Tariqh Akoni. Singles from the album, such as "Second Chance At Love"—a song inspired by her volunteer work at animal rescues—gained international streaming traction and radio acclaim.
Zlaket is also a very accomplished Attorney. In 2006, after two decades in the music industry, Zlaket shifted gears to study law at the California Western School of Law, graduating cum laude. She spent five years handling complex personal injury, medical malpractice, and product liability cases at the San Diego firm Casey Gerry before founding Zlaket Law Offices alongside her father, former Arizona Supreme Court Chief Justice Thomas A. Zlaket. Named a Super Lawyers "Rising Star" for five consecutive years, she maintained a legal practice specializing in plaintiff representation while continuing to perform live music at night.
