Patterns of Nature Walthamstow Tour & Meet the Artists

Join us in person for a fun and inspiring Patterns of Nature tour around Walthamstow and Leyton Marshes, ending in a 1.5 hour curated artists' exhibition! Total time 4 hours.
Explore beautiful outdoor and indoor artworks inspired by nature, discover hidden gems, and get the chance to meet the talented artists behind the creations.

Meet at St James Street train station in Walthamstow, London E17 7PJ.
Visit community hub, The Mill's Summer Art Show and then walk through the beautiful Walthamstow Wetlands to Leyton, via the Waterworks Centre and Victorian filterbeds, accompanied by a nature-focused artist.

Our ultimate destination is the Symbioses: Living Together exhibition at Artworks East gallery in Leyton, with a Q&A with talented curator, printmaker and artist Laura Villares House.

It’s a perfect half day out for art lovers and nature fans alike and a unique opportunity to connect, chat, and enjoy some amazing creativity up close!

The exhibition brings together over 70 artworks made by a diverse group of over 40 visual artists working across printmaking, painting, textiles, film, photography and sculpture.

Walthamstow wetlands is an internationally important nature reserve, providing home and shelter to a wide range of wildlife, from rare waterfowl to majestic birds of prey. We'll go into the wetlands and walk through Walthamstow Marshes along the River Lea.


And yes - this is in London's East End! Then on to Leyton and ArtWorks East for Symbiosis: Living Together, Curator's talk with Laura Villares House.

Artist Laura Villares House will give a Curator's talk about the exhibition, highlighting key themese and exploring her own and some of the art from over 40 visual artists exhibiting at Art Works East.
The exhibition brings together over 70 artworks made by a diverse group of visual artists working across printmaking, painting, textiles, film, photography and sculpture. The artworks in this show visually reference patterns found across scales—mycelial networks, neural pathways, cellular growth, and planetary systems—suggesting a shared language of form that underpins life.
