About this Event

Instructor - Helena Romanovsky

Helena has been in the apparel manufacturing business for over 40 years. Entering the field as a sample-maker, she worked her way up to designing technical apparel patterns for Brands like Susan Bristol, JJill, Brass Clothing, Bennet & Co, and Sterlingwear. She has been teaching technical design and pattern-making since 2012. In her spare time, she quilts, paints watercolors, and is an extreme gardener.

Class Description

Patternmaking 101 will teach students how to create basic pattern blocks and how they are used to make stylized personal patterns. Students will learn what body measurements they need to draft a skirt pattern, how those measurements translate into pattern shapes, and how to recognize style and body shape relationships.

This will be paid once, directly to the instructor at the start of the first class meeting. This instructor accepts payments in cash or through Venmo.

Class Goals

The goal of this class is to provide students with the knowledge of how to draft basic skirt pattern, what information is needed for it, and how to create your own style using a pattern block.
