Invitation to the Celebration of the Patronal Feast Day
Beloved in the Lord, God-loving pastors, dear brothers and sisters!
The Missionary Church in honor of Saint Olga, Equal-to-the-Apostles, Grand Princess of Kievan Rus’, in the city of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, has the honor and spiritual joy to invite the clergy of the surrounding Orthodox churches, monastics, and all Orthodox Christians to take part in the celebration of our Altar Patronal Day.
The day of commemoration of Saint Olga, Equal-to-the-Apostles, Grand Princess, is usually observed on July 24 according to the New Style. This year, with the blessing of His Eminence Gabriel, Archbishop of Montreal and Canada, formerly the Locum Tenens of the widowed Chicago and Mid-American Diocese of the ROCOR, we have moved the celebration one day forward, to Saturday, July 25, to give the clergy and laity more opportunities to share our feast with us.
With God’s help, we intend to celebrate All-Night Vigil the evening before, then the Divine Liturgy and the Glorification. After the service, we invite you to the parish feast-picnic, which will take place on the newly acquired plot of land for the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia, about 10 minutes’ drive from the church.
Refreshments will be offered there, and we will be able to fraternally converse in an informal setting.
Those who wish may bring picnic clothing with them. A place to change will be provided.
