Patricia “Ms. Pat” Williams-Lee, “the real hero of sitcom TV” (HuffPost), is the creator and star of BET+’s Emmy-nominated The Ms. Pat Show, based on her riveting memoir, Rabbit, the story of an inner-city drug dealer turned suburban mom. One of the country’s most exciting stand-ups, Williams-Lee regularly headlines comedy clubs and theaters nationwide.
About the moderator:
Monica Pearson is the first woman and the first minority to anchor the daily evening news in Atlanta Georgia, where she worked for 37 years at WSB-TV. She has won 34 Southern Regional and local Emmy Awards for reporting, anchoring and her celebrity interview shows.
When she retired in 2012, she was honored on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives by the bipartisan delegation of the State of Georgia for her years of service on and off the air to improve the lives of the citizens of Georgia.
Her numerous awards include induction into the National association of Black Journalists Hall of Fame; the University of Kentucky Journalism Hall of Fame; The Georgia Association of Broadcasters Hall of Fame; the Atlanta Press Club Hall of fame and the Alumni Fellows Award of the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Louisville
