Germany and Spain based classical dressage trainer, master of in hand work and NYT bestselling author, Rupert Isaacson specializes in piaffe, passage, pirouettes, changes and airs. His stable of schoolmaster Lusitanos attracts students clients over 40 countries. A product of Portuguese master, Luis Valanca, Rupert has a parallel therapeutic career and is also known for his neuroscience based programs, Horseboy method and Movement Method. In this immersive workshop style weekend you will:
*Learn the history, biomechanics and purpose of piaffe as a tool to open the door to every other dressage movement
*Introduce the lost art of basic in hand work, which is a powerful tool for building piaffe, teaching every movement from the ground and is also used for rehab and conditioning
*Learn Long lining techniques to teach collection and half steps
*Learn tools for training piaffe from multiple classical texts (La Gueriniere, Nuno Olivera, Pluvinel, Baucher, etc) to best teach the particular breed and style of horse you have- learn how each approach was developed to suit different breeds and temperaments
*Practice ridden and assisted ridden techniques that are kind and do not cause stress
*Most importantly, incorporate joy and creativity into the time you spend with your horse
Cost: $675 for Sat/Sun participation, includes stabling
