In the oldest home on the Big Darby Creek resides the area's first settler. An odd, weathered old man who is said to have once lived in a Mingo tribe. You may have heard his name but few know him personally. This is the story of Jonathan Alder.
Spurred by the stories built around his life, Jonathan invites the audience to his humble cabin to tell his own story, just as he remembers it. From his early childhood with his mother and brothers, to his adoption into a tribe, and all the conflicts he found himself in between, Jonathan recounts the tales that made him. He can't help but get caught up in the memories, too, reliving the episodes while slowly realizing his world and health are fading around him. By the end, he and the audience are left with a question: what defines you?
