Paterson was a documented "station" on the Underground Railroad, where local abolitionists took great risks to help freedom seekers on their path north to Canada. One key figure was industrialist Josiah P. Huntoon, whose home at Broadway and Bridge Street - "Huntoon's Corner" - became a link in the Underground Railway through collaboration with an interracial network of activists, including Black engineer William Van Rensaljer and local leaders such as John and Harriet Kline and Henry and Mary Low.Presented by Historian Jimmy Richardson, this lecture is free to the public Call 973-706-6640 to reserve your spot!
