Pasta making class at Glen Riddle Community Center!
About this Event
Hands-On Southern Italian Pasta Workshop — No Experience Required!
**This event is limited to residents of the Glen Riddle Community. Participants will be required to present a Glen Riddle resident ID or visitor pass upon arrival.
In this workshop, we’ll focus on rustic southern Italian pasta making, using our hands and a few simple tools—no eggs, no machines, and no special equipment needed.
Chef Laurie will begin with a brief demonstration of how this traditional dough is mixed, and then participants will work with pre-made dough earning how to shape several classic hand-formed southern Italian pasta shapes.
Each participant will hand form a generous dinner portion of fresh pasta. The pasta will then be cooked and served during class as part of a family-style meal for everyone to enjoy together.
Each participant will receive a Pasta Pantry Gift Bag that includes specialty durum wheat semolina rimacinata flour—the same type of flour used to create their pasta in class—measured out so they can recreate approximately two servings of fresh pasta at home, along with Bunny’s Best red sauce and other pasta-themed surprises.
This is a hands-on pasta workshop, led by Chef Laurie Boucher (@baltimorehomecook), former pasta chef at Cafe Campli and owner of Pasta Made Simple, which hosts private at home pasta parties, group classes, and team building pasta-making events.
