This special class will take a deep dive into a rhythm, from all the parts, including ballet and traditional duns, variations on duns, and djembe solo techniques. Designed to stretch your brain!
During the class we will cover the following:
History of the rhythm
Djembe and Dunun parts
And much more

Cost: $50.

Bring your djembe, dununs (there are loaners available) and water bottle. Get ready to have fun!
Robin “Bountourabi” Leftwich is a fun and dynamic instructor who shares a wealth of information about the music and culture of West Africa in her classes.
The Passport Series is an intensive course that covers rhythms, technique, playing ballet dununs, meter madness, traditional and improvisational solos, and more. Although we encourage you to take each workshop in succession for the best learning experience, it is not required.
