About this Event
Pass The Book at Duncan Place

Our welcoming group shares stories, poems, and other literature in a relaxed and supportive space. We pass the texts around and take turns to read aloud, or pass it on if you’d rather just listen. Join us to discover contemporary and classic Scottish and international writing, with six themed nights over the year:

  • Monday 23rd October - Haunting Tales for Hallowe'en
  • Monday 4th December - Season's Readings
  • Monday 19th February - Songstress to Makar: 300 Years of Scottish Poetry
  • Monday 15th April - Selkies, Kelpies & Bogles: Scottish Myth and Folklore
  • Monday 17th June - Literary Leith
  • Monday 19th August - Edinburgh: Festival City

The group will be led by local community member Jack Tarlton, who will prepare texts for the group to share.

This group is for adults aged 18+.

If you have any questions, please email Drew on [email protected]

Access

There is ramped access into the building. The event will be held on the ground floor of Duncan Place Community Hub and is wheelchair accessible.

There are two individual toilets on the ground floor with one being wheelchair accessible.

We will be based around tables at this group. There are seats with and without arm rests. Seats are hard plastic. We have some padded chair cushions available on request.

There is foyer space and outdoor space for those that might need to break away to a quieter area during the session.
