This event is to raise funds for Christa’s beautiful granddaughter. Here’s her story:
My name is Jayde, and I’m the mother of a 12-year-old daughter named Jaya. January 20th, our lives changed abruptly as Jaya began complaining of hip and back pain that rapidly became debilitating. As a result, she was bedridden, which caused me to call the ambulance to rush her to the ER. After being transferred to Children’s Hospital in Oakland to receive further testing, which included an MRI, we learned that she had a stress fracture in her lumbar spine. This fracture, luckily, was caught before the need for surgery. However, the projected healing time is 6-8 weeks.
Me being her primary caretaker, without thought, had to take an unpaid leave from work due to her needing around-the-clock care. She will need to do school remotely via online, which is causing her to be anxious and sad to be away from her day-to-day norm and social life.
While we are both navigating this new norm, I ask that you uplift us in prayer. The reality is my job as a mother and expenses of daily living don’t stop, and as much as I prefer independence, I realize I need community. If you feel called to donate, you’ll be helping me most importantly outsource natural remedies and modalities of healing such as TCM doctor visits, herbal medicines, tutoring costs, bill assistance, groceries, and other miscellaneous needs while we are homebound for the next month and a half.
Although this is a physical injury, it is going to take some mental and emotional healing for us both. Help during this time will take some stress off of me and allow me to pour into my baby from a full cup. If you cannot contribute monetarily, a prayer and a share of our story will suffice.
