About this Event
This 5 session series focuses on the unique role and responsibilities of educators who support teachers directly while maintaining a non-supervisory or evaluative role. These professionals inside schools – curriculum coordinators, learning specialists, instructional coaches, and others – who inhabit the space between classroom teachers and administrators often work within this context and without the power to change the overarching systems. Through the lenses of adult learning and authentic relationships, participants will engage in activities and conversations designed to define, hone and reflect on their distinct position within their school. Sessions are designed to help participants think critically about their role in a supportive space with colleagues doing similar work.
Participants will:
- Articulate and share how they support teachers to reach students more effectively
- Understand the distinct attributes of adult learning and how to leverage that to support and inspire teacher growth within your school
- Develop a collection of practical strategies and tools for planning and implementing adult-facing initiatives
- Reflect on and practice using multiple methods of delivering and receiving feedback
- Build community and network with colleagues facing similarly unique opportunities and challenges
