Info: Lauren Bates is currently the Chair of the Ontario Caregiver Coalition.
Lauren has over 35 years of experience in law reform, public policy and community engagement in the areas of aging, disability, and caregiving. Trained as a lawyer, she brings to her work a strong commitment to access to justice, substantive equality, and community voice. Lauren has played a leadership role in advancing policy change at the Ontario Human Rights Commission, the Law Commission of Ontario, and Wellesley Institute. Lauren is a skilled legal and policy researcher who has written a wide range of policy briefs, submissions, research papers and reports. She has extensive experience in designing and carrying out public consultations, often working in diverse communities on challenging issues. She is experienced with focus groups, survey design, public forums and events, project advisory committees, key informant interviews and other means of learning from stakeholder and community experiences.
