Create, connect & collaborate with artist Karike Ashworth. You’re invited to Artspace Mackay to participate in ‘Domestic Topography’ a collaborative, multi-faceted art project exploring ideas of ‘safe places’ and ‘home’.Dr Karike Ashworth is an artist and academic based in south-east Queensland who has a lived experience of domestic and family violence. Her practice aims to bring people together to share and make as a form of community-building and learning.
Participants will enjoy working creatively alongside Karike to scavenge for art materials and objects, cut, collage and alter imagery, explore frottage, printmaking, dying and assemblage techniques and more!
Day 1: 10am - 11am Wednesday 12 February
Day 2: 9am - 4pm Monday 17 February
Day 3: 11am - 12pm Thursday 20 February
Day 4: 9am - 12pm Friday 21 February
Project sessions will be catered.
