PARLOUR PRESENTS: The PARLOUR Grand Slam!

‘The Parlour Presents:’ is a series where we highlight independent music labels, curators, booking agents, and artists, opening our space as a blank canvas for whatever shade of artistry they choose to present on our stage.

This time, we're making a scene with the very first PARLOUR Grand Slam! This event gathers and highlights some of Amsterdam's brightest up-and-coming young bands in a day long musical extravaganza sure to get your ears tweaking. Discover Breach, Dunebender, Sneūrf, Common Sexuality,and Atom—five bands with five different sounds, all equally fiery and prepared to set the stage ablaze with a mix of genres, from Punk to Alternative to Doom Metal. Make a scene with us at the most exciting event in this local music scene since... EVER!!!

The Bands

Breach

From the sounds of a broken whisky bottle, blood dripping knuckles and the alluring darkness of silence and violence comes Breach. Firmly laying at the edge of the world, with aspirations to bring it all down in the boiling bile of all wrong doings yet to be done. Through mind- and soul wasting sounds the precipice of a new bottomless pit is about to swallow you. All other sounds shall be rendered obsolete once you're at the presence of Breach.

Dunebender

Amsterdam based friends from around the world drawn together by the love of heavy riffs and spacey jams. Spanning a variety of genres including doom/sludge/stoner metal and psych rock, Dunebender is here to take you on a journey with sound dense enough to move the desert dunes!

Sneūrf

Sneūrf is a high-energy alt-rock punk band delivering raw, virtuosic and catchy anthems with blistering riffs and powerful lyrics. Known for chaotic live shows and a relentless sound, they fuse classic punk attitude with a modern edge, ready to shake up the scene.

Common Sexuality

From long driven passions of performing classical pieces to producing electronic music, four sexy commoners demolish age barriers by breathing new life into rock. Imagine a combination of raw energy and experimental soundscapes, featuring emotionally charged vocals, distorted riffs, and dynamic rhythms. This balance between mayhem and tranquility is the eventual outcome of the band’s every gathering.

Atom

Atom began as a passion project of Czech guitarist and vocalist Filip Vacek. In November 2023, he released Atom’s debut record, Good Luck And Godspeed – an hour long concept album blending elements of old school thrash, grunge, progressive and classic metal.

However, Atom was always meant to be a live band, so in 2024, Rénan van Dijk on bass guitar and Kaan Karshayakala on drums joined to create Atom’s first permanent lineup. Together, these three musicians stand to create a name for themselves in the Amsterdam metal and punk scene, producing live shows with attitude, a unique atmosphere and raw power.
