Join us for an engaging evening of community, conversation, and connection at our upcoming Parks Talk. The evening begins at 5:30pm with time to browse a special gallery exhibit featuring polar photography by award-winning National Geographic photographer Susan Seubert, whose striking images were captured on assignment in the polar regions for the National Geographic Expeditions program.
We’ll then kick off the main program with a brief update on Eugene Parks Foundation’s work across our parks and natural spaces, including the latest progress on the Finish the Ride project, before settling in for the featured talk and discussion with Dr. M Jackson. The Susan Seubert gallery will also remain open after the talk, giving guests another opportunity to experience the work.
Whether you’re already involved or just curious about what’s taking shape, we’d love to see you there.

About the Speaker:
Dr. M Jackson is an acclaimed public speaker, glaciologist, geographer, and storyteller whose work illuminates the profound connections between people and ice. Her talks are highly visual and deeply personal, blending decades of fieldwork across Iceland, Alaska, South Georgia, and the Aleutians with reflections on climate change, storytelling, and what it means to live in a melting world.
Each presentation is an invitation to see glaciers not just as frozen rivers of ice, but as mirrors of our own human experience.
———
About the Photographer:
Susan Seubert is an award-winning fine art and editorial photographer whose work has been featured by National Geographic, The New York Times, and in major museum and gallery exhibitions across the United States and abroad. Based in Portland, Oregon and Maui, Hawaii, Seubert is known for her striking visual storytelling and has earned national recognition for both her journalism and fine art photography.
