Whatever your journey with Parkinson's, we’re here for you. We have organised a series of informative sessions with guest speakers to help you better understand your Parkinson’s diagnosis and live well with the condition.

Anyone affected by Parkinson’s is welcome to attend these free events. Light refreshments available from 10.30am with presentations beginning at 11am.

Understanding Parkinson’s Medic*tion

Wednesday 24 September

11am-12pm

Speaker: A presentation via Zoom by Linda Moss, our Parkinson’s UK helpline Nurse Specialist.

Linda has been nursing since 1984, she has specialised in Parkinson's since 2006, and has worked as a hospital and community based Parkinson's nurse specialist (PNS). Linda has set up two community services, where there was no PNS service, with the assistance of the pump priming funding, paid for by Parkinson's UK. She reduced her hours working for the NHS and joined the Parkinson's UK helpline seven years ago, she still works in both roles and enjoys face to face contact with her patients and supporting people via the helpline , who may have difficulty contacting their own Parkinson's team.

Parkinson’s Living Aids

Tuesday 21 October

11am-12pm

Speaker: Sue Mills, Parkinson’s UK Trading Manager

Sue has worked for Parkinson's UK for over 12 years talking to people with Parkinson's, and helping them find everyday living aid solutions for tasks that they find more difficult to complete now than in the past. Every item in the range is there because of those conversations. You'll hear about products you never knew existed, for challenges you didn't realise affect many people with Parkinson's.

Spotlight on Parkinson’s UK Local Support

Wednesday 26 November

11am-12pm

Speakers: Parkinson’s UK Local Support Team.

Hear from our Parkinson’s Local Advisers who offer a wide range of tailored support for people affected by Parkinson’s. You will also be able to meet our Campaigns Officer and understand how you can help support local and national campaigns. Our Local Volunteer Officer will be updating us on new ways to get involved with local support groups and also find out ways to get involved with Community Fundraising activities.

Wellbeing for Parkinson’s

Wednesday 28 January 2026

11am-12pm

Speaker: Gillian Ward, mindful-medicine.co.uk

Gillian teaches mindfulness meditation to people with Parkinson's, and their carers and partners. Gillian is privileged to be involved with both the Young Onset Parkinson’s Disease Conference and Parkinson's Concierge, where she was recently invited to contribute to this 'Life after Lockdown' Q&A session.

Helping those living with Parkinson's and those with early onset Parkinson's is incredibly fulfilling. It has become apparent that many of the debilitating symptoms are also common symptoms of other illnesses and diseases.

Parkinson’s Research

Wednesday 25 February 2026

11am-12pm

Speaker: Parkinson’s UK Research Team

Parkinson's is on the rise. In the UK today, someone is diagnosed every 20 minutes. By 2050, the number of people with Parkinson’s worldwide will double to 25 million. There’s currently no cure. But as the largest European charitable funder of Parkinson's research, we're determined to change that. We’re chasing down a cure. Investing in pioneering projects that could slow, stop or reverse Parkinson’s. Discovering life-changing new treatments. And we aim to deliver the next new treatment in years not decades.

Importance of Physical Activity and Parkinson’s

Wednesday 25 March 2026 11am-12pm

Speaker: Anna Castiaux, Parkinson’s UK Physical Activity Programme Lead

Being active for 2.5 hours a week can help manage Parkinson’s symptoms. Physical activity has a positive impact both physically and mentally. It can be as important as getting the right dose of Medic*tion.

Being active is important for everyone. It can make you feel good inside and out. It can maintain your health. It can lift your mood. And if you have Parkinson’s, it can help manage your symptoms. The more physically active you are, the easier it is to live well with Parkinson’s.
