Park(ing) Day DC Bike Ride

PARK(ing) Day returns on Friday, September 20, 2024. This annual event is an opportunity for District residents and businesses to display their creativity, building pop-up park in curbside parking spaces throughout the District.

Initially started in San Francisco in 2005, PARK(ing) Day is an event in which residents, businesses, and community organizations re-think the use of public space by converting metered on-street parking spaces into temporary parks. Since its inception, the event has spread to cities around the world taking place the third Friday in September.

WABA will be hosting a bike ride highlighting four of the park locations around DC, with stops at each. The ride will roll from the Georgia Ave-Petworth Metro Station at 3:30 PM. Total of about 5 miles of slow roll.
