"Hikers can take a serene stroll along Lake Placid's shoreline, beginning in the Lake Placid neighborhood. The trail climbs and descends steep slopes beneath the dam as it reaches the far end of the lake. The trail encircles the lake, passes by the swimming area, and hikes over a boardwalk footbridge. Hikers who continue on the Mountain Creek Trail will eventually meet with the Sulphur Springs Trail after passing the amphitheater. After that, the Turtle Trail follows the creek's banks back to Lake Placid and the Lake Placid Trail, where you can see squirrels, birds, snakes, and deer."
