The PLU Open Mic has been welcoming performers every Thursday since 2012, and takes place at the historic Culture Rapide bar, in the 20th arrondissement of Paris.Every week, we welcome a featured performer. See bio below*.
Taking part is simple: once you are at the bar, speak with one of the hosts (see below) who will sign you up. They will then call you to the stage when it is your time. Performances should last around 5 minutes.
Sign-up opens at 8pm, we aim to start for 8.30/9pm.
We welcome all languages, all levels of experience and all artistic genres: from beginners to legends, poetry to performance art.

*Bio
Dennis Maloney is a poet and translator. A number of volumes of his own poetry have been published including: The Map Is Not the Territory, Just Enough, Listening to Tao Yuan Ming, The Things I Notice Now, The Faces of Guan Yin and Windows. A bilingual German/English volume, Empty Cup was published in Germany in 2017. In 2021 a chapbook, Some Windows, with translations in several languages appeared in Germany from hochroth Verlag. His work has been translated into a dozen languages.
His works of translation include: The Stones of Chile by Pablo Neruda, The Landscape of Castile by Antonio Machado, Between the Floating Mist:Poems of Ryokan, and The Poet and the Sea by Juan Ramon Jimenez. He is also the editor and publisher of the widely respected White Pine Press in Buffalo, NY.
