Parenting can feel incredibly overwhelming when children are struggling with big emotions, sensory overload, anxiety, meltdowns, or behaviours that seem to come from nowhere.
As part of the wider Empowering the Village series, Andrea Greer is coming to Selwyn for a practical, down-to-earth evening designed to help parents and caregivers better understand what may be happening underneath the behaviour — and how to respond in ways that support regulation, safety, and connection.
Andrea is a Registered Social Worker with a Master’s endorsement in Mental Health. She blends professional expertise with real-world lived experience supporting children and families navigating emotional and behavioural challenges.
This session is especially valuable for parents, caregivers, whānau, educators and support people working alongside children with:
• Emotional regulation challenges
• ADHD or neurodivergent traits
• Sensory overwhelm
• Anxiety and shutdowns
• Big bursting behaviours
• Trauma or stress responses
Parents will leave with practical strategies, greater understanding, and ideas they can use in everyday life.
