About this Event
Does your child struggle with intense feelings of rejection? Gifted students—especially those with ADHD—often experience rejection sensitivity in ways that impact their learning, friendships, and self-esteem.
The emotional experience of rejection is often heightened in gifted students and can be particularly intense for gifted students with ADHD. This talk will discuss rejection sensitivity and the ways in which it can impact your child's learning and social relationships. Most importantly, the talk will focus on parenting strategies to help our children weather the rejections, big and small, that are a part of everyday life, while building emotional resilience.
Dr. Katie Bellon is a licensed, clinical psychologist in private practice and the mother of two Mackintosh alumni. Her practice is focused on learning assessments for children, adolescents, and adults.
