Parents Helping Parents invites you to a powerful and meaningful event focused on hope, healing, and real resources for families impacted by substance use.Our keynote speaker, Gail Box, will share her family’s heartbreaking and courageous story of losing her son, Austin—an OU football player—to an opioid overdose. Gail has spoken across the state, offering education, compassion, and a message every family needs to hear.
Following her keynote, we’ll host a community panel featuring voices with lived experience and professionals who serve families every day, including a Parent Peer Mentor, a caregiver raising grandchildren, a Peer Recovery Support Specialist, Drug Court representation, and licensed behavioral health professionals.
A variety of local partners and community organizations will also be present to share resources and connect guests with support services available in the region. Guests will receive SWAG bags filled with helpful information, and Narcan will be available for anyone who needs it.
Light refreshments will be provided, including fruit and vegetable trays and more. Water and tea will be available throughout the evening.
This event is free and open to the public. Whether you’re a parent, caregiver, educator, community partner, or simply someone who cares, you are welcome.
Together, we can make sure no family walks this journey alone. Registration opens in January.
